What A Treat

Thank you so much for the Birthday Greeting! What a treat. Because of your prayers, this day has been a wonderful blessing. I just got off the phone with my husband who is at a youth meeting with some of the young people we work with and they were able to lead some one to the Lord! There couldn't be a better gift than that!!! Just knowing one more person has a home in Heaven!

Bonjour Girlfriends-in-Christ

Thursday, June 15, 2006

I was so surprised to receive a Birthday blessing from you! Thank you for your encouragement.

I am a missionary living and ministering in Paris, France. I find that many people confuse a country's wealth and social status with the people's need for Christ as Savior. The French need Christ. Please pray for the people to open their hearts and minds to the Word of God and its message. The French, in general, are a very intellectual and well-read people. They don't seem to see their need for a Savior. Pray for the small churches to be bolder in their witness. Pray for the missionaries not to be discouraged and grow weary. They say that France is the graveyard for missionaries because of the French's indifference to the Gospel message. France needs your prayers.

What a Blessing

Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Thanks so much for your encouraging note. It’s wonderful to know that you’re aware of the ministry of missionary wives, and what a blessing for you to provide this ministry and support for us and other wives of ministers. My husband and I are leaving the mission field soon (we committed to serve two years and that time will be completed in July), and he is seeking a pastorate when we return to the states. So I will keep the information about Girlfriends in Christ and I look forward in participating in the discussion boards, newsletter, etc. It’s difficult for me to do those kinds of things here (in Mozambique) because our Internet connection is so slow.

God bless you in this ministry and please let me know if there’s any way I can contribute.

I Like Your Approach

Thank you for your prayerful concern for me and our ministry in Argentina. We are due to leave the field the end of July for our final stateside assignment before retirement from the IMB. I like your approach and think that it will be helpful.

Thank You for Your Ministry

Sunday, May 28, 2006

Hi Girlfriends,

I still cannot thank God and you enough for starting and maintaining this site. On so many days and nights I come here to see what prayers I might lift up to our God for others, I read the testimonies, I read the mentors pages, I just can't seem to get enough. I want you to know that through this ministry God has so helped me to gain a closer more intimate relationship with. He has used every word, every prayer in my life somehow. Again, I want to thank you for your ministry, for your faithfulness to God.

I also want you to know that I will continue to pray for each of you as you seek God's wisdom.

Native American Christian Woman

Tuesday, August 23, 2005

Thank you so much for your birthday e-mail. Your concern and prayers are much appreciated. Your organization sounds exciting and I'll look into it when I get more time. Did you know that I am a Native American Christian woman? Do you have any other Native American Christian women in your ministry? I had to laugh when I saw NAMB wife, I've never been called that, before!

My husband and I serve in the inner city of Omaha at the Omaha Baptist Center, a cross-cultural ministry. We also work on Nebraska's three Indian Reservations where we began a ministry to each of those reservations. [My husband] and I value your prayers. May God richly bless.

Thank you very much. I appreciate your prayer and support. You reached me rather than my wife but I will forward the email.

Just a quick report, as a Navy Chaplain I'm able to teach nightly Bible Studies underway, offer Sunday services, and do volumes of counseling in addition to meetings and collateral duties. Please pray that our Sailors would may wise choices and that God would open the door for the gospel to be shared.

Thanks for the Birthday Wishes

Thursday, August 04, 2005

Thanks [Girlfriends]. I'm not sure how I feel about my birthday this year. I guess I have been too busy to really think about.

So many new things are happening, many life changing things. My son is expecting his first child in September - WOW....I'll be a Grandma!!!!

Then my youngest one will be turning 21 and has decided that it's time to move out .... OUCH...an empty nest.

My mom passed away about a year and a half ago and I really miss her right now. Having to deal with all of this stuff is kind of hard. I know that I will make it through it as God has always led me through the "tough stuff" but it's still sometimes a bit overwhelming. I so want to pick up the phone and just ask mom how she felt when we all started to move out, and how she really felt when I called to tell her I was pregnant with the first grandchild.

Anyway, enough rambling....

Thank you for the Birthday wishes. They really are appreciated.

God's blessings to you.

What a Blessing!

I received a Happy Birthday message from you all. Thank you so much. What a blessing you are! Mentoring is one of my passions along with discipling Christian women.

One of my new passions is locating Vietnam Veterans. I have located seveal hundred in the past 2 1/2 years. It is so rewarding to get them in contact with their Band of Brothers. It changes their life for the better. Sometimes I pray with them and sometimes they become Christians. It is all done from my home on the Internet and by phone. Small world.

Know that I am praying for you that God will continue to use you and Tammie in mighty ways for him. I am so blessed to be able to call you one of my “girlfriends” and I can’t wait to see what God will do through you in the future!!!

My Husband was Encouraged Also!

Sunday, July 24, 2005

. . . I posted a question recently on your site. I was so discouraged and downhearted and one of your mentors strengthened, encouraged and uplifted me in the Lord and I was able to take what she said and encourage my husband with that also. We are missionaries in . . . Canada and have moved away from all of our family and friends, so there is no one here to go to for godly counsel. Thank you so much for carrying out your burden to minister to us. We greatly appreciate it.

. . . I pray that God blesses you all as you continue to encourage and strengthen us out here in the ministry. Thank you again for doing what you're doing. Many crowns to you all!

Thank you so much for thinking of me for my birthday. This birthday is really going to be difficult because they don't celebrate the 4th here in Wales, of course, and it was a big highlight of the year for us having all of our family together. I really am going to miss my family and all the festivities that accompanied the day.

Talk in Complete Confidence

Thanks for the Happy Birthday and I did look over your web site. I will recommend it to both my pastor's wife and our youth director's wife. When I did mission work in PA/SJ my best friend's ministry was working with minister's wives. It really opened my eyes on the things they deal with. May I encourage you and your friend to continue in this much need ministry. Everyone needs a place to open up and talk to others in complete confidence that is as far as it will go.

Thanks again for all you do and those you reach.

. . . Your website is great. What a terrific idea! Thank you. I will visit it regularly. God bless you in your efforts.

My husband and I attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri and graduated in 1995. We have been married for 11 years and have been in Cuba for 3 years and now in Peru for almost 3. I so enjoy ministering here, although there are many difficult days. We have [two children]. They are the joy of our days.

Women of Titus Two

Saturday, June 18, 2005

I think it is a great idea. Hoping that all stays confidential and doesn’t become one of those “Christian gossip” pages. I don’t mean to sound harsh but they are out there. It doesn’t look to me like that is what you are doing with your page. It sounds like to me you are trying to be “WOTT” women (Women of Titus Two). That has been on my heart as well. We need genuine Titus two women to help each other out.
So, thank you for inviting me .

. . . May God bless you as you help so many women that just need some good biblical counseling.

Pastors' Wives Too Often Left in the Background

Saturday, June 11, 2005

Thanks for the email and the information on your website. I think it's a terrific idea. One thing I've noticed as I travel to various churches to give my reports is that pastors' wives are too often left in the background. They rarely are recognized in meetings and many times are overlooked in the contributions they make.

. . . God bless you all in your endevors to help others in ministry, especially those who often find no advocates for themselves.

Brasil Por Cristo Jesus!

Friday, June 10, 2005

. . . thank you for the wonderful ministery you are entering into now. Encouragement is such a needy thing on the field.

We also have been on the field for thirty years and I am thinking about retiring. Not from the ministry but from the field. I was thinking about trying to get on to staff at some Bible college teaching post graduate courses. Before I do that I will have to leave Brazil. And that is something that is going to be hard to do. Pray for us as we focus on God's will.Once again thank you for your card and your ministry.

Missionary to Nicaragua

Thursday, June 09, 2005

I am a missionary to Nicaragua. Just yesterday or today you emailed me a card telling me about a new ministry you have started. Iwanted to say thank you for the sweet note . . . .

We just moved to Nicaragua 2 months ago to start a church planting work here. We lived in Costa Rica for a year and studied the Spanish language there. We are now getting our home settled in Nicaragua and looking for land for a church building.

My husband and I have two children and one on the way in October. Our daughter is 4 1/2 and our son is 2 1/2. We are excited to see God's plan unfold in our life.

When you remember, pray for our family, that through us God's work can be furthered!.

Amazon Jungle Basin

Wednesday, June 08, 2005

Your ministry sounds wonderful and I pray that God blesses both you ladies and the ministry.

We ourselves are at that age of retiring. I am 65 and will be hitting the 66 in July. Our ministry has been a blessing for the last thirty two (almost three) years. It has been hard at times but God has blessed us and our institute here.

We are in Brazil, in the Amazon Jungle basin (that does not mean we are in the jungle) in the city of Porto Velho in the state of Rondonia.

We could be leaving here with in two years or so. So pray for us and the ministry here.

Real, Pertinent, and Pratical

Wednesday, June 01, 2005

Thank you for your letter and interest to encourage women in ministry. I have been in Brazil with my husband for 24 years, so you can imagine the many ups and downs during this period. Thankfully, God is faithful and His grace is suficient, but it would have been great to have someone to "dump" to . God bless your efforts. Just keep your material real, pertinent, and pratical.
